A quite different approach is that of " Desktop
Publishing;" this tends to legitimately represent a highly graphically
oriented way of producing documents that are image-oriented as opposed
to being text-oriented.
Scribus is the KDE Project's DTP tool.
It has won awards and such, and seems very powerful; I have
wanted to like it, but couldn't.
Passepartout is an Open Source Desktop Publishing application
for the X Windows environment.
